2008 Fall Ball Registration - Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Our last Fall Ball Registration will be this Saturday, 8/16 from 8am to 11am at the Community Park Snack Bar.  Please help us get the word out by forwarding this to everyone you know who lives in the Continental Ranch area.

Please contact Darrell @ drpenny4@gmail.com

Registration fees are $40.00/Player

Practices will start the week of 8/18

The season will run through the beginning of November

Fall Ball is a developmental league for kids who were league age 7 through 15 this year.

Here is the Fall Ball Division breakdown:

LOWER BASEBALL: Age Division Guideline
"A" Major Division:  Team should consist of players of current league age players 9-10-11
"B" Division: Team should consist of current league age players 8-9-10
"C" Division: Team should consist of current league age players 7-8

The "B" and "C" Divisions are geared toward development in skill level.  The goal is to get those in the B Division prepared to possibly play at the Major level in 2009.  The C Division is to prepare those that may have played coaches pitch in '08, to be ready to move up to Minors in '09

The "A" division is a higher skill level, but also developmental at the same time

UPPER BASEBALL:
Junior Division: Team to be made up of current league age 12 year olds.  The goal is to play this division on modified size fields (54 foot pitching distance/80 foot base paths) and have the players learn how to lead off, pitchers learn how to hold runners on and learn what constitutes a balk, learning how and when to run on a dropped 3rd strike.

Senior Division: Teams to be made of current league ages 13-14-15.  This will be a wood bat division.  These games will be played strictly on Saturday mornings/early afternoon...No night games.  This is a great opportunity for those players graduating from Juniors to Seniors in 2009 to learn how to bat and play with a wood bat.  Our highly successful Senior Division is wood bat play.  The 13 year olds will also gain the same experience and prepare themselves for another year at the Junior level in 2009.

CRLL Alumni Ryan Perry is a 1st round selection in the MLB Draft - Saturday, June 07, 2008

Ryan Perry has been selected by the Detroit Tigers as their #1 overall pick.  The hard throwing righty is the first player to come up through CRLL to be drafted by a Major League Baseball team!

We would like to congratulate and thank his parents Keith and Lynne.  They have been involved with this league from the beginning and we would not be the strong, kids first organization we are without them.
